Bio coal is a solid form of bioenergy, which has been gaining a substantial market in foreign countries. Though, it is still in the emerging stage in India because of inadequate marketing and limited supplies. bio coal will serve as a substitute for black coal with a heating capacity ranging from 3500-4750 Kcal. It is known as biomass briquetting as it is manufactured with biomass as its raw material and pressing as the process.
Coal Briquetting is the process of transforming waste material into energy-concentrated and high-density fuel briquettes. Bio Coal Briquetting plants are of several sizes which turn waste material into solid fuels.
Bio
Coal briquettes are a Non-Conventional source of energy, ecofriendly, renewable
in nature, inexpensive and nonpolluting. The procedure of transforming waste
material into solid fuel is also nonpolluting. There is no need to add any
chemicals as it is 100 % natural.
Once a
year a large quantity of agricultural waste is produced. These are either not
burnt or utilized inadequately in their loose form causing air pollution.
Transportation and managing these waste materials is hard because of their low
bulk density. These waste materials can give a renewable source of energy by
transforming into high-density fuel briquettes without adding any
binder.
Briquettes
have high bulk density and specific density. These can endure the stocks of
long-distance transport, transportation, and loading/unloading prices are much
less, and storage necessity is radically condensed. briquettes give much higher
boiler efficiency because of low moisture and higher density Compared to fire
wood or loose biomass. It has been used in the Industries like solvent
extraction plants, vegetable plants, paper mills, textile units, dying houses,
sugarcane mills, food processing units, chemical plants, leather industries,
milk plants, and laminating.
Briquettes formed from briquetting of Bio Coal are quite a good substitute for lignite, firewood, and coal, and give many benefits:
Bio
Coal Briquettes are inexpensive as compared to coal. Coal, oil, or lignite
cannot be replaced once used. The high sulfur content of coal and oil pollutes
the environment when burnt. On the other hand, there is no sulfur in
Briquettes. Biomass briquettes have lower ash content and higher practical
thermal value. While burning bio coal briquettes, there is no fly ash.
Bio
Coal Briquettes are ideally sized for complete combustion and have high burning
efficiency, have consistent quality. Combustion is more identical compared to
boiler and coal response to variations in condensation necessities is faster
because of the higher quantity of irregular material in Bio Coal Briquettes.
Sustained combustion and smokeless burning and the temperature necessity are
attained because of very effective combustion.
The
natural polymer lignin acts as a binder and provides and also provides
resistance to decline and repels water mechanical support. Well-matched to
gasifier which can operate any engine due to the solid form and combustion
efficiency. In gasifiers, the briquettes can be utilized and the partly
pyrolyzed briquettes can be again utilized as a substitute for high-value-added
charcoal for industrial and domestic usage leaving the fuel wood unused and
thus preventing deforestation.
Typical
usage of briquettes mixed with iron sludge power is made in big furnaces to
keep the temperature active for power up. There is no pollution to the
environment and no Sulphur emission and toxic gas.
